Information Systems Architectures

As we venture into the next phase of our journey, we arrive at Phase C, commonly referred to as Information Systems Architecture. This phase stands out among the Architecture Development Method (ADM) phase, But what makes it so peculiar?

The unique aspect of Phase C is that it encompasses two phases in one. It focuses on defining data and application architectures, which are crucial components of any information system. In this context, D stands for Data, and A represents Applications, both vital for building a robust architecture.

The good news is that despite appearing as two distinct sectors, data and applications’ inputs, steps, and outputs are essentially the same. This overlap is why they are combined into a single phase. The primary objective here is to develop the target information system architecture and create a candidate architecture roadmap that addresses existing gaps.

This phase mirrors the purpose of the previous business phase, but it shifts our focus to the intricacies of data and applications. We will dive deeper into these elements, exploring how they interplay to form a cohesive system architecture.

Stay tuned as we unpack the fascinating world of data and applications
